General Information
Training Format
Summit Hill bible Institute course is a course whereby information is implanted through teaching two nights in the classroom. Illustrated notes and assignments in pamphlet form are handed out with every series of lectures. This information is taught by lectures to students who are under guidance of the mature trainers. These trainers could be their pastors or students who are under guidance of mature trainers. These trainers could be their pastor, group leader, elder or other recognized leader in the church
There are six divisions presented subsequently during four academic years and can only be done in the classroom situation of the local church. The following is the division.
1. Discipleship Training Course DTC
2. Workers Training Course WTC
3. Leaders Training Course LTC
4. Evangelism Training Course ETC
5. Bible Training Course BTC
6. Pastoral Training Course PTC
At the end of the first year, after the completion of the first part of the DTC and the first half of the ETC, the Certificate of Christian Service is issued. At the end of the second year, that is after the completion of the DTC and the WTC the student receives the Diploma in Christian leadership. At the end of the third year or after the completion of LTC and the PTC, the Diploma in Christian ministry is awarded for the separate year which can be done as any year or the licentiate Student may do it simultaneously in correspondence with his/her pastor to reduce the studies to three years. This course is not a correspondence course.
The licentiate in Christian Ministry is awarded when all four years have been completed, a set external exam on the PTC has been passed and all assignments have been presented. It is awarded at one of the yearly Pastors Conference. A central record will be kept of only the licentiate Students for accreditation purposes.
If any semester of the four year course is completed, a Certificate of Achievement is issued to the student at the graduation if the student did not complete the year as normal. Awards preceding courses were indeed completed if the student studded elsewhere
The Purpose of the Course
The purpose of the course is summed up as;
1. To evangelize the lost ETC
2. Establish the Convert DTC
3. Equip the Disciple DTC
4. Train the worker WTC
5. Inform the Teacher BTC
6. Produce the leader LTC
7. Direct the Pastor PTC
The greatest burden is that so many Christian workers and leaders are crammed full of knowledge without know-how. Our purpose is to produce knowledge that comes by practical experience in the local church situation. By the end of the course the person should be able to fulfill the purpose. This is to win the lost, establish the convert, equip the disciple, train the worker, produce the leader and direct the Pastor or minister.
This in turn will produce someone who can plant churches, help responsibly in establishing the churches or ministries anywhere in the world
Added to this the following general objectives:
1. To develop a knowledge of the word of God –to be able to communicate and defend it– and to prepare for the continuing study of it.
2. To obtain the means for personal spiritual growth
3. To gain an understanding of the church and its ministries.
4. To obtain training in particular ministry to which the student is called
5. To gain basic study, thought and communication skill
6. To prepare for leadership through on-the-job training
7. To provide a disciplined teaching environment in the local situation without them losing key people to far away institutions
Administration
1. The Administration
The administration is responsible for the management and co-ordination of the SHBI course. The board includes the pastor of the local church and all the lecturers or trainers.
2. The office of the Registrar
The office of the Registrar receives student’s applications, enrolls new students and assigns student numbers. The registrar sends, receives and supervises study materials and assignments. Students’ records are kept and maintained by the registrar.
Accreditation
SHBI is an institute in partnership with the FAAI, Fivefold Accrediting Board International. This organization is a group of ministers mandated to give accreditation to all Bible students finishing at Summit Hill Bible Institute.
Mat 28:18-20 And Jesus came to them and said, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go then, and make disciples of all the nations, giving them baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to keep all the rules which I have given you: and see, I am ever with you, even to the end of the world.
Eph 4:12 For the training of the saints as servants in the church, for the building up of the body of Christ: This is our scriptural mandate and responsibility given to us by the head of the church, the lord Jesus Christ. We want to be a tool of ministry in the hand of the lord Jesus Christ to train His people for the work of the ministry and to motivate His people to be involved in this great commission.
We are aware of the need that Christians should be equipped for every work of ministry especially for well-motivated leadership. People need to have practical experience that is founded on a solid basis– a thorough knowledge of the Word.
Division of the SHBI Course
The division have been made with the following processes in mind
The first step
The first step towards producing a qualified leader is through evangelism. Evangelism produces a convert or a born again believer
The Second Step

The Third Step
The disciple must be equipped for the work of ministry and to produce a worker, be trained in the practical environment of the practical environment of the local church

The classroom Situation
This is the standard method where teachers and instructors impart the information to the students one night a week for three forty minute sessions a night.
The trainer is a responsible leader in the Bible School
Every two to seven students are with one trainer who by spending time with them guides them through the practical steps of the assignments. The assignments are completed at a time outside of the class hours suitable for both the trainer and the student.
Measurement of progress
The written tests or examinations are set by the institute itself. The student qualifies by Completion of the assignments showing how the practical tasks have been achieved
Selection of students and leaders
Students are recruited and encouraged to enroll for the SHBI in the local Church situation by the leaders and the pastor. The Dean takes from the student group whom he thinks are potential leaders (those who want to go further), and then introduces them as trainers to other students. Both the trainer and the student must be committed to each other in the training program. The trainers must be willing to take them as disciples through the training assignments of at least one whole semester.
Residents Bible Schools
We visualize the SHBI to be held in every city, suburb, town or village. We see teams of teachers in every Bible School so that the members of the local church are trained in the local situation.
Admissions Policy
Presenters of the SHBI are committed to a policy of open admissions from other churches in the area, suggesting that the student informs his or her minister, pastor r group leader of the intended studies in order to be able to participate in the practicals.
